John Aschenbeck, Director

John Aschenbeck is a Director for MACCO, based out of the Houston, TX office. He possesses 12 years of broad corporate finance experience in interim management, turnaround and restructuring consulting, investment banking and research, M&A advisory, and private equity consulting, across various industries.

John has provided research and investment decisions to some of the world’s most substantial institutional investors. He has helped deliver over $3B in restructuring, capital markets and M&A transactions.

As an interim manager and financial leader, John has supported both high-growth and stagnate companies execute organizational restructurings and reorganizations. He has in-depth experience in developing and implementing successful strategic business plans.

Prior to MACCO, John was a private equity consultant working across multiple industries. He holds an MBA from the University of Texas at Austin’s McCombs School of Business. John also has a Master’s in Accountancy and a Bachelor’s in Accounting with honors from the University of Houston’s C.T. Bauer College of Business.

Notable Assignments

Supported equity capital markets and debt capital markets teams for an energy & industrials investment bank throughout $1.4B of restructuring and recapitalization transactions.

Served as a lead strategic advisor for an industrial manufacturer & distributer. Partnered with the Board Chairman, CEO, President, CFO, Controller, and business unit leaders to develop a company-wide strategic restructuring. Constructed a 2-year strategic plan to execute value creation initiatives with projected total company EBITDA margins expected to approximately double over the 2-year period.

As a Managing Director of Equity Research, provided research and investment opinions for 20+ oil & gas exploration & production and midstream equities with annual revenues ranging from $30MM to $18B; highlighted risks and opportunities to support informed investment decisions for institutional investors.
